Speak Up Jax Summer Camp invites middle school students to explore creativity, confidence, and self-expression through poetry, storytelling, and art. Through inspiring books, hands-on writing activities, and collaborative projects, campers discover the power of their voice in a supportive and encouraging community.

About the Camp
At Speak Up Jax Summer Camp, students explore the power of words while building confidence and creativity. Each week features engaging books, creative writing workshops, elements of art, and fun activities designed to help campers discover their unique voice.
Guided by experienced poetry instructors from Hope at Hand, Inc., campers participate in poetry writing, storytelling, art projects, and group discussions that encourage imagination, reflection, and connection.
Our supportive environment allows every camper to feel comfortable sharing ideas, exploring creativity, and celebrating their voice.

Weekly Learning Structure
Students will learn creative writing techniques, experiment with artistic expression, and build skills that help them communicate their thoughts and ideas with clarity and confidence.
By blending reading, writing, and hands-on creativity, our Summer Camp fosters a vibrant environment where discovery thrives, and every voice matters.
Each week of camp includes:
- A shared book club experience

Daily Schedule
Morning session
7:30-9:00 AM – Extended Day (optional)
9:00 AM – Morning circle and creative warm-up
9:15 AM – Writing workshop
10:30 AM – Storytelling or poetry activity
Lunch Break
11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Afternoon Session
12:30 PM – Movement break
1:15 PM – Creative workshop
2:15 PM – Reflection activity and snack
3:00-5:30 PM – Extended Day (optional)
Campers end each week with a collection of original work and opportunities to share their writing with the group.
